On 23 October 2013, National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) held the President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Awards at Mandarin Orchard Singapore Ballroom, with President Tony Tan Keng Yam gracing the event as Guest-of-Honour.

Beautiful People, one of the recipients of the President’s Award for Volunteerism, Individual and Informal Group, was recognised for their contribution to Gracehaven. The team has been working with the girls at Gracehaven since September 2012 and they have shared friendships, and imparted values and skills through mentoring sessions.

Beautiful People is a programme that encourages volunteers to build valuable relationships with teenage girls through group activities and mentoring, with the aim of inspiring and empowering the girls to live with dignity and respect for themselves and others.

The Salvation Army is grateful to volunteers from Beautiful People and congratulates and celebrates this achievement with them.
