Bringing the Christmas cheer of doing good into the office |
Following an earlier partnership with Peacehaven in 2011, Euromonitor International decided to once again work with The Salvation Army to help the less privileged. This time they organised a Christmas Kettle Appeal in the office. Funds were raised through the set-up of mini ‘fair booths’ around the office in which family and friends are also invited to be part of. It is the first time they have tried to fund raise on this kind of scale – imagine the excitement!
Shoppers' Paradise |
The fair included booths such as a Swap Shop that sold second-hand items, a silent auction for designer goods and travel vouchers. A bake sale with home-made cakes, a kid’s booth incorporating various activities like balloon-sculpting and origami. Wii and Fifa tennis knock-out tournaments, a challenge booth a-la Minute-To-Win-it. There was even a ‘sabo’ booth in which staff can pay to nominate their colleague(s) to do something silly. The person with the highest number from the votes will have to fulfil his/her ‘sabo’ or if not, but him/herself out by paying double the amount!
The Salvation Army offers a big thank you to everyone for their warm generosity. Euromonitor managed to raise S$2,293.45 which is also matched dollar-for-dollar by the company. This brings the grand total of Euromonitor International's contribution to The Salvation Army's work to S$4,586.90. Euromonitor International is very pleased to be able to do its part to help the less privileged once again and look forward to many more meaningful collaborations together with The Salvation Army.
